Back in May, a story appeared in the Daily Press that the Hampton City Council was going to start using iPads for their agendas and supporting materials during public meetings. The switch was justified because of the thousands of dollars in paper and copying charges it could save.
Thank you for signing up with VCOG's daily e-mail alert on access and free speech issues. To submit story links for possible inclusion on future alerts, send a message to vcog@opengovva.org.
The meeting was called to order at 11:50 a.m., by Lawrence McConnell, President.
McConnell reported that the winner of this year’s VCOG citizen award was Carol Lindstrom, and the winner of the media award was Mike Owens, of the Bristol Herald Courier. The government award was shared by the City of Alexandria and the County of Fairfax.
