The Virginia Coalition for Open Government

A note from Jennifer Perkins to VCOG members PDF Print
“I’m excited about the position because there is a great opportunity to take VCOG in many directions; to expand critical functions and re-examine others; and to use the diverse skills I’ve picked up over the years in local, state and federal politics. There is no fear of boredom with this job, which I expect to be both challenging and rewarding.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back to state and local issues, which are much more fun to work on then federal issues where you feel so far away from the people you’re working for.

“I have always felt the greatest deterrent to official corruption and the best way in which government officials can serve their constituents is through an open process. Having input in the process and being involved gives the public not only more power, but more satisfaction, with those who serve them.”
